yayyy! :D
Each squad made different types of CNY goodies and all the squads had a whole lot of fun.

They picked up new skills, bonded more in their squads and also they welcomed the Sec1s well.

GB is a very fun CCA. Allow your girl in GB and she will experience lots and lots of fun! :D

GB is a very disciplined CCA! As a UG, DISCIPLINE is very important!

In GB, there are many CIP activities! There is no doubt your child will attain all her hours provided she attends them! :D

CAMPING! GB has camps. Through camps, they attain ranks, discipline and lots of fun! They also attain skills like outdoor cooking, pitching tents and experience many adventure elements! This is also a way to help attain the National Youth Achievement Award .

In GB, the girls will do work and tests to attain badges and ranks! :D

GB has national events every year. GB also has national competitions each year. From Fun Competition, to Performance Competition, Dance & Cheer Competition, Drill competition and so on!

GB is a Gold award CCA for three consecutive years!

GB CAN DO PRETTY MUCH ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING! DO ALLOW YOUR CHILD TO JOIN THE GIRLS BRIGADE! HOPE TO SEE YOU SOON! :D

Half the cca went to Alexandra Canal and the other went to the old folks' home.

Both did this for their service =)

Today was a VERY FUN DAY :D
Half of the company went opposite school's old folks' home for their service learning and the other half of the company did service learning too by making coloured salt, balloon sculpting and packing of the food.

Very proud of each and everyone's contributions! ^^

Thank God Its Friday!
CCA on the 1st July

We started out with our usual form of roll call.
Very glad to hear that the attendance was quite good and many managed to have their nametags on. A good way to start the month ^^
Next was PT.
Now, lets all count together LOUDLY and run as a company together alright?
Next was DRILLS.
Drills was very fun to most of us.
The sec1s managed to some-how master their marching and learnt new stuff like maju and how to berhenti after marching. Goodjob sec1s, we hope to see better drill standards from you all!

Contingent 2 learnt new stuff like sizing, hormat and keblakang pusing on the march. It was good for the first try. With more effort and practice at home, it is definitely possible to have better drill standard.

Contingent 3 practiced on their DS1. Soon enough, you guys will master it, JIAYOU!

Next was recess. FOOOOOOD~! YUMMMY!
Girls had to change out into their full uniform.
After that was briefing about MANY EVENTS that is happening on JULY. Remember to hand the different forms to your various ICs!

Then we had to dismiss our parade, SAY 'GB!' LOUDLY AND PROUDLY OKAY!
Soon after, we did out rehearsal for GB day. Practice okay!

Sergeant Weekend II

Hello!
How were your holidays everyone? Tomorrow's school. Have you finish your homework yet?
Anyways, some sec3s have gone to the Sergeant's weekend and here is an update about it!

On the 24 & 25 June, we attended the sergants' weekend held at the Gb HQ. There were more than 200 girls from different schools and companies at the sergants' weekend. There were sessions held that taught us many things about leadership. It was a memorable experience and mixing with other gb girls made the experience even better and I made some new friends with them.

From this Sergeants’ weekend I had benefited a lot. I have learnt about feed, breath, move and connect. To be patient ,to honor people and to have a heart to serve others. Integrity is to be constant. With teamwork, we can go further. Successful leaders take action and does not lay blame, justify and complain. In order to develop a great team the 3 things needed are clarity ,integrity and to be committed.

South Zone Corporal Camp 2011

Hey 61st! Some sec2's have been to the South Zone Corporal Camp and here is an update about it!

The camp's theme was : One For Another.
Its from 1 Thessalonians 5:11
"Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing"

Here are some reviews about the camp!

Corporal camp was fun. I enjoyed a lot and learnt a lot of things during the camp like to be punctual. I made a lot of friends there, they were helpful and friendly. Even though, we do not know one another at first but were able to carry out the instructions well together (:

Although I don't really like corporals camp but I still enjoyed it. From this camp, I learnt to look out for one another, encourage and support each other and I also leant the meaning of faith, love and hope.

In conclusion, the camp was VERY FUN and it have desciplined us in many ways. We hope to have the same unity and descipline level in 61st. New batch of leaders are born and now they are here to lead, us, 61st. Strive on 61st!

>The Girls’ Brigade International is organizing an international competition. Entries for the International Competition in 2010 are to take the form of an advert promoting Girls’ Brigade. Any medium may be used, but if your submission is in digital format it must not exceed 60 seconds.

Entries should meet the following guidelines:

Size: 55cm by 80cm (22” by 32”)

Material: Any material made into the correct size

Media: Examples of the media that could be used are: Drawing, Painting, Embroidery,Collage, Applique, Digital format (time-bound – maximum duration 60 seconds).

Hey GB girls, more information regarding the attire for this Friday will be updated soon!

For now, I just want to inform all of you that every girl must bring yr boots, GB socks, polishing Kiwi and polishing cloth this Friday.

Why?
Some seniors have notice that some girls did not polish your boots last Friday. You may not know, unpolished boots is considered as improper attire, but not a single girl admitted to that last Friday. So a decision has been made to ensure that every pair of boots is polished. There will be a boots inspection every Friday, starting this week. Those girls with unpolished boots will have to stay back after school and polish their boots till it shines. So, if you don't want to stay back, it's easy; just polish your boots!!! Don't complain because it's for your own good!

Let's uphold the name of the Girls' Brigade proudly and smartly by ensuring that every part of your uniform is in tip-top condition, alright?

Monthly post - Squad 4

Hello people out there! Here are some of the things my squad members have learnt in GB, including me!

Nataling,
- I have learrnt to respect teachers, learnt to be a leader and so on. I enjoyed GB! The teachers in GB might be naggy, buy ya they are considered quite a great teacher. GB had us prepared for our MYE too - during CCA day. The teachers actually used the time to let us study and prepare for our MYE. There are many thing I have learnt in GB, but let's listen to the rest. ((:

Germaine,
- I have learnt the importance of being on time. No matter its meeting, gatherings, etc. Other than this, I have also learnt to respect others. It's not only respecting the old, but also those who are younger than me. For instance, listen to what they got to say and the decision's they make. Placing other's needs before mine is also another thing I learnt. The things I want, might not be so important that I have to get it right away. But there might be people who needs it more than I do.

Lihong,
- I have learnt how to work in teams and what is team spirit. Treat others the way I want to be treated. Our lives have bad and good company and we must leave the bad ones for a better future.

Tiara,
- I learnt about how to respect teachers, friends, family and people. I also learnt how to become a good women. I also learn to help others when they are in need.

Wang Zhe,
- The first time I join GB, the girls are all very friendly and helpful. In GB, I learnt to help others and I can learn english. In GB, everybody are very united.

XiaoHan,
- I have been in GB for one year. During this one year, I have learnt a lot of things. GB teach me how to work with others during activities such as drills, camps and jewellry making. Before MYE, GB also prepared time for us to study during CCA time.

Ella Teo,
- I have learnt about being a women after god's own heart, and how do I define beauty. The GB teachers gave us time to prepare for our exam and revise with us. I learnt to care for my family, because they are a gift for me from the lord. I learnt how I can play my part at home by praying for my family, serve them and obey to my parents. I learnt to be a virtual women.

Cherie,
- I prepare my exams by studying and reading my textbook as well as the notes that my teacher gave. Allthe notes are as useful as the textbook as same things are bring told in the textbook. But all these is our effort and it shows if we really did listen in class. GB did prepare us for MYE.

Siang Ting,
- I learnt to do foot drills and learn to respect teachers. GB is a very fun CCA! They prepare us for MYE by giving us time to study during CCA time.

Squad 4, Publicity

Monthly post - Squad 3

Last friday, I did the drill stage 2 test again. It was not really
difficult but some of the words I don't know how to spell. After
that, we play games in squad. The week before the exams,
we have our cca on friday. We did some drills but it was very tiring.
We learnt long commands and some basic marching. When I learnt
new things, I am very happy. I have been in GB for one year plus.
When I first started to join GB, I felt that GB is very boring. But
slowly, I think that GB was not boring at all. It seems very fun
to me! We played games and do drills together. We also get to
talk with people around us. It is easy and relax than other CCA.
I am very happy to join GB. And GB won
the GOLD AWARD for 2008! Congrats! ((:

On the 27th of March '09, we had a welcome party for the new GB girls as well as the new Sec2s. We had a great time and the food were delicious. We had ham-and-cheese sandwiches, chocolate muffins and jellies. These were all made by the Sec 2s and 3s. In addition, we had potato salad made by Sarah Chua! Bee hoon and potato chips were included too!
Before eating, we sang Grace:
" Thanking for the food we eat Yum Yum!
Thanking for the world so big Dum-di-Dum!
Thanking for the birds that Sing-a-Ling-a-Ling!
Thanking God for Everything, Amen!"
After filling our tummies, we got to watch a short movie clip which showed the activities that we had in year 2008. Some of which were the UG camp, EOY camp, inline-skating, bowling sessions .etc. The emcees gave us a quiz on the movie clip and the prizes were...LOLLIPOP! :D
Following that, we played a game called 'Blow-Wind-Blow!'. Some girls then did the Banana Dance as their forfeit. Finally, we sang the Vesper and GB ended.
Many heartfelt thanks to:
-the Sec 2s & 3s for preparing and planning
-Officers and Teachers for organising
-and last but not least, all the GB girls for participating enthusiastically and enjoying yourselves!!!

A month ago, each Sec1 was given a CCA. My name is Fanny from 1N1 and I am assigned to the Girls' Brigade as my CCA. Once we were in our CCA, we were divided into squads. Our first task was to discuss about what we could later. The teacher-in-charge then, Ms Shirley Goh, decided to teach us to make pineapple tarts for the upcoming Chinese New Year. Ms Goh then taught us the recipe and the utensils that should be used. Throughout the entire activity, I saw that some of the other GB girls were very creative as they tried to cut out shapes from the dough. When the tarts are baked, we got to eat them. They were delicious. I have made some friends from GB and I got to participate in various activities. The girls were very friendly and nice to me. Through a simple activity such as, baking pineapple tarts, has allowed me to realise the importance of strengthening the bond between every girl. I also learnt that it is important to co-operate and communicate with each other, and to have self-confidence to make new friends. I feel welcomed and happy in my CCA attachment and hence, I chose GB as the first choice for my CCA.

By the way, last week I was sharing with the Sec 3s about the 5 love languages. They are touch, words of affirmation, quality time, acts of service and gifts. We will feel especially loved when someone expresses her love for us in the language that speaks most of us.

I did a test with them... and all the sec 3 squad leaders have the same love language. Quality time and acts of service. How interesting... no wonder they enjoy sitting around and talk so much...
